stephanie is: here here…

hello. last night i did yoga, then watched the sopranos and a documentary from bed before we went to sleep. i got up at 8:30am. of course i am caled a slacker (jokingly i guess) for getting up that late. i suppose i need to be at my puter by 6am not to be. but i didn’t ask to be laid off. i would have stayed with my job till at least the end of summer so i could build up more freelance clients. hrmph.

i need to make my contract and a couple other documents that i need so i can write some freelance people back. and i need to update my physical portfolio (like those thingers artists carry to interviews to show off art) since i have an interview tomorrow. the job probably pays $20k/year less then what i was making before. i don’t know that i would go back to something so low – almost seems worth giving freelance a good try.

i would love it if freelance did work out. i have no routine or schedule right now, but i could see myself doing work and managing to to clean the house and run errands and stuff. i would learn to better manage my time and i would possibly get over some of my bad driving phobia by running the errands. i am babbleing though. gonna go eat my cereal.

  1. A $20 thousand pay-cut is steep. Aren’t there any jobs in the area that pay what you used to make? I’d give freelance a try first. You’d probably be happier that way anyway…all that freedom!

If you really want to give freelance a go. I’m aspiring to do the same, I’m sure once you have done one or two projects freelance you will feel much better about it 🙂

I hope the freelance thing works out for you. I tried doing that in my area, and failed. My area is not a technological mecca. Most people here are scared to death of computers. They hear terrible things in the news about hackers and viruses and such which doesn’t help. Computers in this area are mainly for businesses. There are a few home users, but very few. I couldn’t wait around for the area to catch up with the rest of the world either. Hence my night job. I hope things work out far far better for you though !~

  4. i really admire your drive and the other word i can’t remember(when something bad happens and jump back into the game rather than sit around feeling miserable). a lot of people in the world could learn from your determination.

    🙂

  5. FWIW I am super impressed at your ability to get up that early. I think I have chronic fatigue syndrome, and so do a few doctors. :< I can barely stay awake for a few _hours_ at a time. I got up this morning at 10 and felt really good about that. It took effort.

I dreamt I met you last night and gave you a hug. How tall are you? in my dream you were my height (5’9″)
