stephanie is: at work at work.

good morning. i have been at work since 8am. i get here at 8am everyday now cause my commute takes 45 minutes less that before. woo! that means i get to leave at 4p everyday! though i always stay till 4:30pm so that i have a bit of cushion built up for the days i go out to lunch.

here is a note my daddy sent out today:

Everyone,

Today is an anniversary of sorts. One year ago today I was
officially diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I didn’t have a
party. Looking back over the last year some things are worse, like
my tremor, and some things are better, like my running. I’m in two
different PD research projects, the Longitudinal Study and the
Sumanirole phase 2 drug trial. I also did that study at Hopkins with
the fMRI machine. Am I making any headway against the disease? Not
really. The disease progresses on, despite the best I can do. I
guess with the drugs and all, the symptoms are better than they would
be without them. I’m contributing to the eventual cure for PD in my
own small way, which if nothing else makes me feel better.

  1. I didn’t know your dad had PD. I’ve never known anyone with it, though it seems to be more and more common, I hear. Sounds like your dad is a strong individual with a great outlook on what’s going on with his life though, and a definate want to help out with other ppl who may have it. There ought to be more ppl in this world who have that kind of generousity and drive.
