Steph, the chat applet on your temp site isn’t working for me, what is the IRC info to chat with you :0)
ps: zoo’s are good! i have 5 cats and a dog
Chinchillas!
My aunt has a chinchilla, who currently lives here, and I have to tell you- they’re the best! They don’t smell (unless you don’t clean the cage) and they’re really friendly if you get them young enough.
The only things to remember are, they need a lot of room to run, and they’re not too fond of noise.
They do this cute little “hop off the wall” thing that is hysterical to watch. When I have enough room of my own, I’m going to get one!
I think a Chinchilla would make a good addition to your zoo! 🙂
~dreamy~
AND they make a great set of ear muffs .. ;o)
*runs and ducks* heh
Awww
We have a chinchilla.. he’s the cutest, bestest little guy.. sooo adorable..
Just don’t let him out around the network cables in the house.. heh.
=)
Re: Awww
I saw a chinchilla sleeping in petco the other day. They are nocturnal and are fragile, because they have cartlidge for ribs instead of bone- so you have to hold them by the tail when petting them. also I have been told that they are not really friendly pets- very skittish.
A friend of mine in college had a chinchilla. The advantages were that he had personality and was quite soft. The disadvantages, at least as far as I could see, were a little more numerous. He was not only skittish, but if he escaped the cage, he was very fast, and a creature with a cartilaginous ribcage can fit in some awfully small places. Nocturnality was occasionally a problem because the chinchilla was the only animal awake at night, was lonely, and would cry, while during the day he was generally no fun. Finally, well, as a lonely, solitary chinchilla, he had another habit (of which he always seemed to partake when people were visiting — exhibitionist chinchilla?).
heh girl, you’re gonna have a zoo!!! 🙂
hehe we already have a zoo!
psst! i like you pic!
you ARE NOT getting a chinchilla!
