stephanie is: a bit sad still a bit sad still…

i still cry a bit when i think of the poor flop-eared baby. i wish she could have lived years and years. but i would have hated to have not known she had health problems and have her suffer another month or so in pain. it is all very bittersweet. i have this new baby bunny that needs my love, so i guess it will be good for me to channel those sad thoughts into happy emotions. i think bunbun is confused cause i am showering her with love today. she will get to meet the new baby tonight. i doubt things will go as smooth as they had been with the last little one, she was very calm and just laid there by bun wanting love (perhaps cause she felt ill?). i’ll find out. i am happy to see the silvery fluffmonster eating and pooing just like she is supposed to. munch munch munch.

so now it is time to name her… i am considering “baby” as a sort of tribute to the one that died… right now i call her “fluffmonster”, hehe. go join my lycos club if you haven’t already, and put in your ideas in the featured poll. while you’re there, post your picture! i want to know what you all look like…

  1. Oh goodness

    I’m so sorry to hear about your little bunny. I know how precious animals are. I almost value animals lives more than humans. Sounds weird. Like one time, a guy ran into a deer and it went through the windshield and killed the guy. I was feeling more sorry for the deer. Geesh. I’m weird. But, I hope that your new bunny is healthy. At least your other bunny felt a lot of love before he died.

  2. awwww,BayBoo…hmm,sorry,first name that came to mind..im silly… :}

    i am so sorry to hear about one of your other bunnies dying,ive lost rabbits myself,its extremely sad..hang in there.. :{ *hug*

  3. Aww!

    So sorry to hear about your old bunnie =o( At least you gave it lots of love before it died.

    And the new bunnie is absolutely *adorable*! Very cute. As for a name, I have no clue. Baby sounds good though.

  4. dearest steph,

    i am very sorry to hear about the passing of your bun. pet stores don’t have a good track record for selling healthy rabbits. they take them away from their mommies too young because it maximizes profit. this means that baby’s digestive system doesn’t form properly. 🙁

    you might want to hook up with the organization for which i volunteer, the house rabbit society. they rescue buns from abusive homes and rehabilitate them. they have many buns who need a good home, so if you are ever looking for another long-eared pal.. plus that website has GREAT info on nutrition, health, and very cute pictures.

    i had a baby bunny also pass away recently (though less suddenly – a neighbor’s cat climbed into my house and nipped him.. and unfortunately, bunnies are so delicate to bacteria, the little cut caused a long infection to which he eventually succumbed). my floppy-eared bun still is with me and is lovedlovedlovedloved. even though he’s destroyed at least $1k worth of stuff in my house.

    • thanks for the advice and the email – i ordered litter simular to what you mentioned. i had seen that website a little while ago and even bought a book by them that i have nearly finished reading…
