I like your little graphics, they are cute! I’m wondering though why don’t you have a dynamically run web site?? All your pages are static and that’s just plain boring, as well as OLD style. I clicked on the ‘donate’ button! I am SHOCKED. What are you wanting a ‘donation’ for?? I saw the pictures of your huge brand house, being built from scratch, and you’re ASKING FOR DONATIONS? Second, what exactly is a “dynamic” site? Using CF, shtml, xml, or some other nonsense? Oh damn, she actually has skills hand coding html, and does not rely on some stupid program to do shit for her. Or maybe because her site can be viewed by almost any browser as opposed to using only IE.
Third, the donations are for whatever the hell she wants to spend the money on. It’s a much nicer way of having a members site, allowing people to pay as much or as little as they want, instead of charging a set amount of money for the maintenance of the servers, and other equipment.
And finally, it’s because of assholes like you that she does not sleep well at night! Get a fucking clue, and a life. If you don’t like her site, feel free to never visit again, we wont mind. No really, we wont!

I’d like to see some of your work, it must be incredible, for you to be able to be such a judgemental asshole. BTW, people dont have to be fooled into paying money for the site. They do it because they are good people, who respect Stephanie for one reason or another. So keep on trying to convince people not to donate money, it just makes people want to donate more. And hey, it’s my house too, so I aint too proud to beg.

Hmm. It would have been one thing if you had maybe personally emailed her stating your concerns with her website. Maybe try a little positive criticism? But you came here to start an argument and it worked. You came here to try to hurt someone’s feelings. That makes you open to our criticisms as well.
I am also confused as to your use of “Dynamically Driven.” I don’t know that much about html or graphic design, in fact I am learning it every day, but I assume you are referring to dynamic html and flash and programming languages like that. I personally like that stvlive isn’t dynamically driven in that sense of the word. It’s quick to load and it works on a wide variety of browsers. When you are designing for the web, you have to take that into consideration. Sometimes it means making exceptions, like if you really wanted to put that flash menu on your site, you have to consider the 50 percent of your viewers that don’t want to download things or are operating on a 56k modem that would take hours to download a plugin on.
And if you hadn’t noticed, there is some flash material on the site. Look at the webcamgrrl page. Look around her site. Look at this journal page (of course it’s not flash, but hopefully you will get the point). Can you see that she coded that herself? I think that is pretty impressive, and just the fact that it works on so many browsers is something I really admire.
This site isn’t the only site she has done, I am sure. It just so happens that it is in purple and black. So what? It’s her personal website! People design personal websites to look pleasing to their own eye! My favorite color is purple, so I use purple font also. I won’t design my personal website for other people–I design it for myself. I think that is the best way for someone to get to know me through my site. If they know what I like, they may get a little more info into who I am.
As for saying spookycam is a prostitute…ok…I must take a moment to laugh at that now…
I know you are going to come back and criticize my personal site, but let me just tell you that I make no claims into being a graphic designer. I learn new things every day and am developing skills s-l-o-w-l-y, so I know it sucks. But when you criticize a site as good as stvlive, I have to step in and say something. I am very impressed with this site.

Ok, look… I have been training in graphic design since I was 12 years old and I can’t even come close to what stephanie’s doing in all of my years of effort. She is one of the most genuinely good people I have ever encountered on or offline. When I lost my job she GAVE me cash to help me out and she’s never even met me in person. It really takes a big heart to care about a stranger like that.
You should pray to some day be as good a person as Stephanie is… though I doubt that would do it.

I am shocked, why would anyone post things like that? Insted of looking around the site abit, visiting the chat room, finding out what is going on, you had to start insulting people. I would hope even and 8 year old would have more commen sense and manners then that. As far as the site, I think she has done a great job. She is a designer, not a developer. I am not sure what you were looking for on her site, what you expected. Did you expect if you paid you were going to see some adult content? I donated to the site, I donated because I know how much time she spends on it, and how much time I spend visiting. And I dont consider myself part of the “ignorant public”. I am a designer myself.

(and sorry, professional designers and even developers still create a number of sites that are pretty much HTML only, it all depends on the job) A site that can be viewed cross browser and cross plateform. One that is easy to navigate. One that the designer has fun creating and brings a smile to my face when I visit it (another reason I donated). Not sure what you are trying to compare it to, not sure what you expect a site to do. If all you do is look at and judge a site by the way its coding then you are missing the whole point of the internet. If you would of taken some time and looked at the content you would of realized that the site ishome for a group of friends (and more are alwayswelcome). Some of which will travel across the country to visit each other. And nobody has to pay,large parts of the site are still open for those whocant afford to donate.
I think you just posted it to disrupt her site, to bejust generaly hatefull. There is no reason to actthat way and it is sad to see it.

“Dynamically Driven?” Folks, this child has obviously spent too many days at the Web Economy Bullshit Generator. Using such laughable buzzwords in an attempt to degrade her site does not make you seem more educated. I too can read a thesaurus. It is obvious that her site is a personal one that has grown in popularity which necessitates that operating expenses be offset in some manner. The fact that she uses a good portion of the funds sent to her because of the site toward worthy causes greatly elevates her status beyond yours.
Your image is further lowered by resorting to vulgar insults because you feel that her HTML is not up to your lofty standards. Now I’m not usually one to resort to the tactics of an obviously petty, jealous trifler such as yourself, but in this case, I’ll grant you a boon.
Get a life, fuckwit. If you can’t read white text on a black background, turn up the contrast on your monitor. If the text is too small, increase your resolution. If that’s not good enough, then turn off your computer, unplug all the cords and cables, repackage it all in the boxes in which it came, take it back to Sam’s Club where you bought it, and tell the dotard at the service desk that you’d like to return it for a refund because you are too fucking obnoxious to be on the Internet.
