brrrrrinnng! brrriiinnng! (furby noises)

i dropped some bills in the mailbox this morning and saw funny stuff written on the inside of the door. we live just outside d.c. it isn’t the inner city or anything. it isn’t really the suburbs because there are mostly just apartments in our neighborhood – but it sure as hell is not the ghetto. but it seems there are some teens in my complex that wish it were. they are always loud, littering, grafitting, breaking the door…. anyway, written in the mailbox was: “eastside”, “niggas be hard”, err i can’t remember the other now…

  1. Gangstas in the lobby

Yes, the wellknown rivalry between the eastside and westside of Alexandria goes as far and deep as the Sharks and the Jets, the Cryps and the Bloods, the northside and southside of Arlington, etc. Not particularly known for their creative graffiti, gangs in the toney suburb of Washington are frequently seen lurking in mailrooms, pools and lobbies of apartment buildings mostly annoying the concierge and lifeguards. Watchout! They may be armed with a letter opener, stamps or a ballpoint pen!

Here in Nashville we get a strange redneck/gansta mix.
All I can think is what my dad used to say.

You kids with your hair and your clothes!
