sleepy

dan and i have been in bed asleep off and on since 6pm. my tummy is very upset and his ulcer is acting up. it is all the stress. he did talk to the morgage guy and made an appointment for next monday. he says that he sounded very positive about it all. but we are both too nervous to stop worrying. we don’t want to assume we are getting the house yet, and then get let down…

it is raining here now. i just got the last of my birthday gifties – stuff danny had ordered for me and i got “ghostbusters 1 & 2” from my future brother-in-law. i will be making my thank you notes this weekend. i need to buy more stamps.

i don’t know what else to write right now. my brain is pretty numb. my dreams were all about me paying people for everything i did. i am eating a few pringles and it is keeping my tummy from bubbling. i plan to be back in bed in a half hour to watch the new episode of “oz”. it is the only show besides powerpuff girls that i watch regularly.

i guess i shall say goodnight now. thank you to everyone who posts comments in here. i don’t have time to answer each because i am usually at work and am supposed to be working (go figure) but every comments is appreciated. i mean it.

    Steph,

    Don’t put too much weight in your survey. I had been coming to look at your site for some time before I had even noticed you HAD any surveys! I would venture a bet that you might do well with a small fee on your “members only” section.

    Also, with your current bandwidth, you might want to consider offering services to others. For example, little web sites for people (people who can maintain them themselves, just don’t want to have the “constant” connection) etc. I know one reason I am turning to DSL is partially because I couldn’t find anyone out there like that…

    I was just on your site checking in on you and was reading some of the people’s thoughts. Its unfortunate that to make some money on the web one must show some nudity. I happened upon some of your archives and saw some very sexy stuff that if you had a few more revealing stuff I would pay. Now to be honest I would not pay to just watch you sit in front of the PC while you do some html. Also you tend to have a click of friends where you share things you are doing like syc(?)pop, etc not much value for those of us around the world. Don’t get me wrong its interesting to a point but not something I would pay for.
    An idea for you how about you offering on-line training for those of use with little knowledge of web design. In my case I am going part time to school and have taken HTML. But in no way did I learn the things on your site. Even the teachers wouldn’t know what you know.
    You can show how you developed each web page, teach basics of the different software you use etc.
    As far as a cost I pay $600. for undergrad course which meets for 12 weeks for 2hrs once a week. My college Northeastern University in Boston, MA also does on-line teaching of web type classes. A professor sets up on the school’s server files representing class notes, assignments, mid terms,Finals etc. Its assumed class meets on monday in order to have a due date for assignments. Then on assigned times there is a chat room were students in the class ask questions etc. He will monitor once a week.

    You can do similar type courses on HTML, Java, Photoshop, etc. You can also assign books to get and you can make a deal so you can make a % off each book sold. Seeing you have proof of your knowledge and you are on the PC chatting anyway why not teach multiple courses. I’d pay in the $100’s to learn from someone in the business. You don’t even need to do it on the web cam, but you can try I don’t know how,have us watching your pc screen on our computer real time, while we try to do the same on ours, like in a classroom.
    The toughest part would be Marketing. Maybe someone will give those Idea’s, like renting e-mails or addresses and sending out mailings.
    Sorry I wrote so long but I care about you, also before I sign off each night before going to bed so your beautiful eyes are the last I see. Thats priceless.

    anyway Answer my thoughts and if interested ask for my e-mail address and I will send it to you I would love to help. WE could always chat on your chat site.
    P.S. But being a MAN (syn-pig) I still would pay to see you in a nude site.

      I would pay to have Stephanie teach us how to make some of the neat graphics she makes!
      If she had a streaming vid class once per month and people who paid could watch live as she shows us step by step how to make some things. I don’t know about all streaming video, but I know that some of them can’t be recorded. Only those who paid for the class could get into the passworded area once per month, and people couldn’t record it to give out to others for free.

  4. Sorry to hear about the digestive distress. Is Dan being treated for that ulcer? Studies have shown that most ulcers are bacterial in nature (Helicobacter pylori) and can be treated successfully with antibiotics. Nerves are usually not the culprit; they just aggravate the existing condition.
    I hope you guys get through this. The best of times is before you!

    • Yeah, I’d always assumed that bacteria wouldn’t be able to survive in such an acidic environment as the human stomach, but I guess they can. They’re tough little buggers.

      The Tagamet does nothing to the bacteria, unfortunately. It just reduces the amount of gastric fluids produced. I think my problem was major stress, not bacteria.

      Ahh, and a weird but good side effect… some people have noticed that any warts they have go bye bye within a month or two of regularly taking prescription strength doses of Tagamet (or any brand of cimetidine, I think they’re some generics).

      I had a few warts on my hands that simply would NOT go away. I had them frozen umpteen million times (liquid nitrogen is fun to play with, BTW), had them treated with cantharidin (which causes the skin to blister… not pleasant), tried the salicylic acid approach, and finally got them lased with a pulsed-dye laser (can you say, “OUCH!!!”?). NONE of those methods worked.

      A while later, I started taking Tagamet and within about a month, noticed that the warts were disappearing. Aside from being embarassing, those fuckers were PAINFUL. I stopped taking the Tagamet for a while and after a few years got another wart. I started taking Tagamet again and had the same results; within a month, the warts were almost gone.

      I think the current theory is that the Tagamet causes some people’s immune systems to get cranked up a notch.

      • i had warts on one of my knees when a was little (warts is such an ugly word – they were just little bumps). i went though all the freezing where they’d put liquid on and a bandage and tell me to bump my knee or something. i don’t really remember. when i was 7 they gave up and gave me a shot to numb my knee, then ground them off. that was a truely awful expirience. you feel it vibrating through your bones and you can see it happening. i went through half a box of tissues.

  5. Ulcer and other

    Large doses of Tagamet (800 mg/day) do wonders for ulcers. I speak from experience.

    I sent you some presents from the Amazon wish list, and they show up as being delivered on the 12/13th (sort of, see below). Please tell me they didn’t lose them!

    I thought the delivery log looked a little odd… It says “Jul 12, 2000 12:59:00 PM ALEXANDRIA-ARLINGTN., VA DELIVERY”, but then has ALEXANDRIA SORT, VA ARRIVAL SCAN and DESTINATION SCAN the next day, but the status is DELIVERED. Why have anything with SORT in the name after a DELIVERY?

    Hmmm, methinks I’ll be talking to Amazon or UPS.

    Anyway, hope you and Dan get some quality sleep time soon.
