i survived the party for 3+ hours! there weren’t gobs of ppl there and it was nice to sit and chat with the ones i knew. they are all good monkeyheads and will come to my party. this sweet girrlie heather said she got me the bestest birthday present ever – i wonder what it is… hehe. i am going to be doing a website for her and she is gonna pay me with a handmade hello kitty lamp.

why are houses so expensive?? we have been looking the last few days and they are all around 200,000 here. we make good money combined – how do other people afford them? is everyone rich? all the cheaper ones are horrid or far, far away from civilzation….

i have to work tomorrow. i am not one of the fortunate ones that has off. but i am going to work from home – and only a partial day at that.

eep! a zit apppeared on my neck from nowhere and it hurts!

My husband and I bought a house last Christmas. It was around 96,000….and we got it at a great deal. The seller didn’t want any money from it…so he sold the house at that price. Most houses that are in our area are selling for 120,000-150,000

If you move to So. California, you will find a perfect house that is cheap. We did! πŸ™‚

NORTHERN cali is a different story πŸ˜€ a fixer-upper could maybe be found for 400k where i am (silicon valley)? it’s kinda sick.

I think its relavant, I grew up here (the south bay of LA) and homes are very exspenive for the average person…for example if you want to buy a dirt lot (if you could find one)in the town I grew up in it would cost you $300,000 and that would be if it was someone trying to get out in a hurry…if you wanted to buy a house in the nieghborhood I spent my childhood in it would cost you closer to $800,000 to get into a place….this is scary as we get closer to buying a house cause of course you wanna buy a house where you feel at home but at those prices?…but like I said it’s all relavent….we like it here so that is one of the disadvantages….then again when ever we want we can go fo a walk down the beach and enjoy the sunset πŸ™‚

Ack! Houses are much cheaper if you don’t live so close to the beach.. like say in.. Temecula. Hehehe. But we couldn’t afford to buy one either.. so we rented a neato one, yey! πŸ™‚

Heck we could even afford to buy a couple of box fans to help keep us cool if we bought a house out there πŸ™‚

  2. Housing costs bite!

Housing prices are insane over here 200k for a medium average house, everywhere on the island (vic, Bc). My sister just recently got a house and she is renting it. My Aunt bought her’s and spent most of her time trying to find a good morgage as apposed to a nice house.. so maybe the trick is in what kind of payments your making? Also the shorter it takes to own the house outright the cheaper it is in the long run even if it means sacrificing a little. I only get this information from my other aunt .. and shes a real estate agent πŸ™‚ ..*gasp* I haven’t even thought of buying a house yet.. I suppose mebbe in the next couple years I will. Good Luck finding a house Steph πŸ™‚

WOOT! Vic bc. I’ve been looking for houses on the island and have found some cute 2-3 bdrms for 150-160K. Mainly I’ve been using this site. Its really cool to specify exactly what you’re looking for and find 40 or so homes. Anyone know if there is such a site for the US?

  3. eeek houses

You’re paying for living so close to DC πŸ˜› So you’re paying for the area. My house is worth a lot if we were to sell it, but if I moved to bumfuck Southern Maryland I could get one that is 3x as big.

    • Re: eeek houses

exactly! teehee i live in bum*fuck MD =b and people who come to my house always think we’re super*rich cause we have a hyooj house..the thing was so cheap tho..

although the guy built this house a year before we moved into it an it’s already falling apart..but that’s southern MD for u… =9
