sleepy

yawn! i am still tired… i went to bed at 6am and danny woke me up at 12:30pm. i have to unpack our entire kitchen again since the exterminator came while we were away. fun.

yesterday, after i wrote, we went to breakfast in the hotel – then checked out. we drove the rental car back to the ghetto rental place and they drove us to the airport. we had a while to wait – i think the flight left at 2. i got stuck in the middle seat and i told danny i didn’t want to be stuck there the whole time (since we didn’t have to deplane in las vegas). but i was. and since i was sitting between two boys they kept stealing all the arm rests without noticing. danny wasn’t feeling well so we didn’t get off the plane at all. and because of bad weather our plane was re-routed adding an hour or more to the trip. so i was sitting there for 8 or more hours. bleh. they got my food wrong. it was only a vegitarian meal so it had cheese in it that i couldn’t eat. i wasn’t surprised – airlines rarely get it right. and even when it is right, it is still airline food and not worth eating.

we finally got into baltimore late late late- 1 or 2 am. we took a taxi out to dan’s work where the cars were. the dirver was clueless and wouldn’t drive where danny told him. at one point he stopped the car, made a u-turn, parked on the side of the road, and started looking through road maps mumbling about it being the wrong way. we convinced him to keep going in the way were were heading before and our turn was less than a mile away. then we got in the car and drove home. we got home somewhere around 3am and i got to sleep at 6am.

danny might be coming down with a cold and giving it to me.

  2. Airplane Food

Cross country trips are almost never good (except the one flight I had from L.A. to National where I had all three seats to myself and could put up the armrests and lay down.) I always tell people they need to stop by the market or even a convenience store and pick up a store of their own food for the flight. The vegetarian menus are usually better than the regular meals served, but event those are only barely edible. The other advantage is that you don’t have to wait until they are good and ready to serve you.

Glad you had a good time in S.D.

bleh they made us wait till they had been serving dinner for about 30 minutes. as they were handing me a chicken enchilada i had to say “uh, we had special meals” (she looks up at row number) “oh, so you do” (goes off to get them)

  3. Greets!

I’m so glad that you are back!

I love the pic of the ocean that you posted. Looks like a really cool desktop image… I could dream in the pic of the ocean for hours.

I hope that you and Danny get better soon.
